Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Hip flasks gained popularity during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries among the gentry for carrying spirits during field pursuits. By the early twentieth century, sterling silver designs incorporated contoured shapes to fit comfortably inside a jacket pocket, frequently featuring detachable drinking cups.

These items were crafted from solid sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques such as raising, seam soldering, and polishing. They typically feature curved bodies designed to conform to the human torso, cork-lined bayonet-twist caps, and detachable slip cups fitted to the lower section.

Authentic British pieces display a complete set of official hallmarks stamped on the main vessel, as well as matching marks on the detachable cup and cap. These marks include the lion passant for sterling silver, an assay office mark, a date letter, and a registered makers mark.

Silver barware items can be arranged on a dark timber tray atop a sideboard alongside glass decanters. They also serve as decorative accents placed on a study desk or integrated into a curated bookshelf display.

Polish the silver exterior periodically using a dedicated silver cloth to prevent heavy tarnish while maintaining surface details. If intended for non-functional display, keep the interior completely dry and unsealed to avoid moisture accumulation and internal oxidisation.
