We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian display cabinets, produced between 1901 and 1910, are known for lighter proportions than Victorian design, frequently incorporating Sheraton revival elements like delicate stringing, satinwood crossbanding, and geometric glazed doors.

These cabinets were constructed using mahogany or rosewood framing, accented with boxwood and satinwood inlays, hand-cut glass panes, and soft fabric linings such as velvet or silk on the interior shelves.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut joinery, narrow astragal glazing bars, satinwood stringing, original lock plates, and subtle wood shrinkage or surface wear appropriate to early twentieth-century craftsmanship.

Place the cabinet against a neutral wall to highlight the dark timber, filling the fabric-lined interior with contemporary ceramics, glassware, or art books to create a balanced mix of traditional and modern aesthetics.

Dust surfaces regularly with a clean microfibre cloth and apply natural beeswax polish along the grain once or twice annually, ensuring placement stays clear of direct sunlight and heat sources to preserve the wood and marquetry.
