Antique Furniture Direct has dated this Victorian Mahogany Wellington Chest to the 1860s.
The drawers are secured in place by side hinged pilasters and it has a secret locking mechanism. The top of the right pilaster slides open to reveal a catch which locks the drawers and then sides back to hide the catch. There is also a hidden keyhole but no key.

Condition Report:
Good colour and patina. General wear and marks commensurate with age. There is some missing/cracked veneer to the sides at the top and small section of veneer missing to the plinth (see photos).
