The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this Georgian Facet Cut Wine Glass to the 18th Century.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter at the rim.
The lower third of the bowl is scale cut. The bowl sits on a hexagonally facet cut stem. The stem ends in a conical foot which measures 9.2 cm (3.7 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.7 cm (6.3 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is some slight roughness on the edge of the foot at one point.
Lead glass weighing in at 285 g. (~ 10 oz.).
