Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton Revival furniture, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, reinterprets late 18th-century neo-classical designs. Key features include geometric boxwood or satinwood stringing, light proportions, slender square tapered or turned legs, and balanced symmetry.

Cabinetmakers primarily used solid mahogany and fine mahogany veneers, often accented with boxwood, satinwood, or ebony line inlay. Cast brass oval ring or drop handles were typically fitted to drawers and cupboard doors.

Authentic pieces exhibit precision dovetail drawer joinery, genuine timber grain variation, and hand-fitted brass hardware. Construction methods reflect late Victorian or Edwardian manufacturing techniques, including clean drawer linings and refined marquetry.

Position the piece against a neutral wall in a dining room, hallway, or open-plan living space to serve as a focal anchor. Balance the deep wood tones by topping it with minimalist ceramic vessels, contemporary artwork, or lamps with linen shades.

Dust regularly using a soft, dry lint-free cloth, wiping in the direction of the timber grain. Apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually to nourish the wood finish, avoiding aerosol sprays or harsh chemical cleaners.
