Railway Plaque of South African Origen

1900 - 1920
Description

A large Navette shaped wooden plaque with the coat of arms for the South African Cape Railways. It bears the inscription " Cape Government Railways" and "Spes Bona" which means Good Hope. It is a rare Colonial piece and in good condition. Circa 1890-1900.
