ANTIQUE #SA1191420

Victoria & Albert Museum Wrought Iron Fire Screen

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Harrington Antiques

A substantial wrought iron fire screen, purportedly from the Victoria & Albert Museum. Early 20th century.

The scrolling V & A emblem intertwines and terminates in wide arching scrolls. Gilt metal finial to the top. The fire screen remains in a wholly untouched condition with remnants of the original gold paint still evident to the underside.

Oxidisation throughout and slight movement in the feet joints though overall structurally sound.

A fantastic thing.
