Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George II fold-over tea table is an English furniture piece dating from between 1727 and 1760. Designed with a hinged leaf, the top folds out to create a larger surface for serving tea or playing cards, while remaining compact when closed against a wall.

Mid-18th-century tea tables were predominantly crafted from native timbers such as walnut or imported mahogany. Components frequently include brass bail handles, wooden oak drawer linings, and hand-cut dovetail joints.

Authentic pieces feature period construction markers such as hand-sawn drawer bottoms, oak or pine secondary timbers, cast brass hardware with original central posts, and slender legs ending in pad or pad-and-disc feet.

Position the table folded against a wall in a hallway or living space as a console or side surface. Top with contemporary ceramics, a table lamp, or framed artwork to create contrast against the dark timber patination.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight to prevent warping and drying. Apply a high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year with a soft cloth, buffing along the direction of the grain.
