Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George III demi-lune card tables are semicircular tables produced in Britain during the mid-to-late 18th century. They feature a hinged top that unfolds into a circular playing surface and typically incorporate cabriole or tapered legs with refined carved details.

These tables were primarily constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, prized for their deep grain and durability. Secondary woods such as oak, pine, or beech were commonly used for interior drawer linings and internal frames, alongside brass hinges.

Authentic pieces display period-correct construction techniques, including hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-planed secondary timbers, and original iron or brass fold-over hinges. Natural age-related wear, oxidation on undisturbed timber undersides, and slight asymmetry in hand-carved elements also indicate authenticity.

When closed, a demi-lune table functions as a compact console in entryways, hallways, or living room alcoves. Its curved silhouette softens angular modern architectural lines while providing a decorative surface for lighting and accessories.

Preserve the finish by applying a thin layer of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year, buffing gently along the grain. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage, veneer lifting, and uneven fading.
