Victorian Walnut Stick Barometer by Wheeler

A quality Victorian figured walnut slim proportioned stick barometer by Wheeler London in superb condition c.1875. The slim case with cushion moulded cornice and turned cistern cover to the base. Moulded edge to the glazed bevel edge glass viewing window with angled bone scales sat behind and remote vernier marker to each. The slim trunk with choice figured veneers and inset original mercury action thermometer set to the centre with bone scale to match the barometer; bears the makers name E Wheeler, London. Fully overhauled movement, the case in superb original condition with a rich colour and deep polish. Measures 37" long x 2" wide at the trunk x 5" wide at the cornice x 2.5" maximum depth.
