Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A four-glass bracket clock is a spring-driven table timepiece featuring clear glass panels set into the top and sides of its wooden casing. Originally developed in the late 18th century and popularised through the Victorian era, this design allows the internal mechanical movement and pendulum to be viewed from multiple angles.

These clocks commonly combine solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut with glass aperture panels. The internal movements and dial plates are constructed from cast and stamped brass, often featuring silvered brass dial rings, engraved steel hands, and blued steel screws.

Authentic pieces generally display period-correct construction methods, including hand-cut dovetail joints on the case, cast brass clock movements stamped with maker marks or serial numbers, and natural age-related patination on the timber and silvered dial face.

An antique bracket clock creates a structured focal point when set against contemporary neutral walls on a stone mantelpiece, dark wood sideboard, or structured bookshelf. The architectural lines of four-glass cases bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern minimalist styling.

Keep the wooden case away from direct heat sources, radiators, and high humidity to prevent timber movement. Clean glass panels with a soft dry cloth, avoid liquid polish on silvered dials, and have the mechanical brass movement professional cleaned and lubricated by a horologist every three to five years.
