A charming and highly unusual early Victorian mahogany gaming table, the shaped square top swivelling to reveal four recessed circular dish compartments for counters or coins. The well-figured mahogany top with moulded edge sits above a rounded apron, all supported on a finely turned and fluted baluster column. The table stands on an elegant quadruple splay base with shaped legs of good stance.

The concealed swivel action and dish recesses indicate its purpose as a compact gaming or whist table, designed for drawing rooms and parlours of the period. Superb colour and patination throughout.
