Fabulous Edwardian Silver Caster by Nathan & Hayes, Chester 1909

1900 - 1920
Description

This tall and very decorative Edwardian silver caster was made in Chester 1909 by the renowned Nathan & Hayes. It is of generous proportions and has an excellent silver gauge. Of neoclassical inspiration, the urn-shaped body profusely decorated with festoons, leaves and cast shells. The pull-off pierced cover with pineapple finial. Raised on a circular pedestal base.

Hallmarks:

GN over RH for George Nathan & Ridley Hayes

Lion Passant.

Chester Assay Mark.

Date letter "i" for 1909.

Dimensions:

Height: 19cm / 7.6 inches.

Diameter: 6cm / 2.4 inches.

Weight: 223 g / 7.8 oz.
