Silver plated cased travelling candlesticks by Elkington & Co., London

The oval case engraved with a coronet over monogram CDM to both sides, contains two candle holders with two carrying handles, which all neatly fold away when travelling.

English, circa 1860-1890

Dimensions when closed: H: 1.25" (3cm), W: 4" (10cm), D: 3" (7.5cm).

The monogram is surmounted by the coronet with five raised balls and four strawberry leaves which denoted the title of Earl or Countess.
