This is possibly John Allsebrook Simon (1873-1954) who led the Liberal National Party and was part of a landslide election victory on October 27th 1931 for 'National Government'; a three-party coalition formed following the collapse of the Labour government two months previous.

This attractive set is three quarter bound in green Moroccan leather with five raised bands to the spine. Title, volume number and date of publication are gilt stamped to the spine of each volume. Green cloth boards. Some light marking to the cloth boards in areas but generally the exterior of the volumes remains in a very good attractive condition.
