We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George II furniture, produced between 1727 and 1760, is characterized by sturdy proportions, fine balance, and the prominent use of native woods such as oak and walnut alongside early imported mahogany.

Chests from this period were primarily constructed from solid oak, walnut, or mahogany, often features pine drawer linings, cast brass drop handles, and hand-cut dovetail joinery.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-sawn mark variations, hand-cut dovetail joints on drawer sides, original brass escutcheons, and historic wear around foot bases and drawer runners.

A classic oak chest works well as a focal piece in a hallway or bedroom, anchored by contemporary artwork or modern table lamps to balance historical and contemporary elements.

Maintain oak furniture by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding direct heat sources and excessive moisture.
