Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

French cameo glass is a form of decorated glassware produced by fusing multiple layers of differently coloured glass together and etching or carving away the outer layers to reveal design motifs in relief against a contrasting background.

Craftsmen blew a base glass vessel and applied additional molten layers of contrasting coloured glass over it. The decorative pattern, often inspired by nature, was painted on using acid resist before the vessel was immersed in an acid bath to remove the exposed glass layers.

Authentic pieces feature crisp acid-etched depth, distinct hand-finished details, appropriate pontil marks or smooth bases, and subtle variations in color overlay. Signatures were typically etched, cameo-cut, or painted into the body of the glass.

Display the vessel on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or near a soft light source where ambient illumination can pass through the translucent glass layers to showcase the landscape detail.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth. Clean using tepid water and mild detergent when necessary, avoiding abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals, or sudden temperature shifts that could cause thermal shock.
