Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Legras glass refers to decorative glassware produced by the Verrerie de Saint-Denis in France during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Directed by Francois-Theodore Legras, the manufactory became prominent for its Art Nouveau designs, utilising acid-etched, cameo, and hand-enamelled techniques depicting naturalistic scenes and landscapes.

These vases were typically blown from coloured or frosted glass base layers, often featuring a textured or tinted finish. Artisans applied vitreous enamels and paint onto the exterior surface, which were then fired to permanently fuse the atmospheric landscape details to the glass body.

Authentic pieces are identified by evaluating enamel texture, glass weight, tool marks around the rim or pontil, and maker signatures. While some pieces carry painted, acid-etched, or impressed marks such as Legras or SD, many original production items were left unsigned.

A decorated glass vase can be placed on a sideboard top, mantelpiece, or console table where ambient light highlights the translucency and colour gradient of the glass. Position the item as a focal display piece alongside minimalist ceramic accessories or dark wood furniture.

Clean frosted and enamelled glass using a soft, dry lint-free cloth to remove surface dust. Avoid immersing the item in water, using harsh chemical detergents, or scrubbing, as abrasive cleaning can detach painted or enamelled surface decoration.
