Pinefinders has dated this Antique Pine Linen Press to the 1880s.
At the top sits a very attractive cornice above the two doors, each door featuring beautifully shaped panels. Decorative detailing runs down both front edges. Inside the top section there are currently four shelves with a vertical partition halfway across, plus a drawer at the lower left. At the bottom of the right-hand side is a removable flap, which allows for additional hanging space if you wish to convert the interior. The internal configuration can be altered as required — shelves can be removed, and hanging rails can be fitted. The internal depth is 17.5", so it provides reasonable space for hanging shirts, jackets, and lighter garments.

The base has matching decorative carving and stands on tapered hardwood feet. It features one dummy drawer front above two full-width working drawers, all fitted with beautiful decorative brass drop handles and matching key plates.

This linen press dismantles into three main sections for delivery — the cornice, the top section, and the base (and of course the two doors). If you’d like individual measurements for these parts, I’m happy to provide them.

In great condition for its age, it was originally painted and is now in bare wood.
Price: £1,450 as it is, or £1,595 waxed in a shade of your choice.
Dimensions: height 81.5", width 63.5", depth 24", internal depth 17.5"
(approximately 207 cm x 161 cm x 61 cm, internal depth 44 cm).
