Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in early 19th-century Britain, Regency sideboards typically feature symmetrical proportions, classical architectural elements, and fine veneers such as flame mahogany. They were designed as focal storage and serving pieces for formal dining spaces.

High-grade mahogany, particularly flame mahogany veneers on oak or pine carcases, was primary. Construction techniques involved hand-cut dovetail joints, cockbeaded drawer edges, and solid brass hardware or turned wooden knobs.

Authentic pieces display hand-planed timber surfaces, uneven saw marks on rear panels, original hand-cut dovetails, and cast brass locks. Flame mahogany drawer fronts with original timber patination also indicate period authenticity.

Position the sideboard as an anchor piece in a dining room, hallway, or modern living space. Pair it with minimalistic wall art or modern ceramics to create an intriguing contrast between classical woodwork and contemporary design.

Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and radiators to avoid veneer lifting or wood shrinkage. Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish annually to nourish the mahogany.
