The hinged lid opening by key release with Bramah lock and key to reveal a superb original fitted interior. The interior of the lid lined in ruched red velvet with stationery pockets behind and a removable mirror, which has a leather back and easel stand. The surface of the interior with leather lined divisions holding the 12 cut crystal bottles and containers (scent bottles, tooth brush case, soap box traveling ink well etc) each with heavy quality engine turned solid silver and engraved lids. Lift out velvet pad to the centre with 4 inset dressing tools and 2 pairs of scissors to the lower compartment. Pin release to the front edge for the base drawer, which when opened contains an original leather writing surface with hinged opening to access the velvet lined jewellery compartment below. Bears the makers mark for London silversmith George Reid along with clear hallmarks to all sections. Presented in superb original and complete unrestored condition; minor damage to a couple of the glass bases which does not detract from this superb piece.
