Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Carolean style furniture, originating during the reign of King Charles II in the late 17th century and later revived in the Edwardian era, features prominent barley-twist turnings, geometric drawer panels, carved scrolling aprons, and dark oak construction.

These desks were primarily constructed from solid oak, occasionally using oak veneers for panel work, complemented by drop-handles cast from brass and hand-carved decorative aprons.

Authentic revival pieces from circa 1910 feature early 20th-century joinery techniques, such as machine-dovetailed drawers, combined with hand-finished carving, period-appropriate brass drop-handles, and natural age wear on the stretchers and writing surface.

Integrate the desk into a modern study by pairing it with a simple contemporary leather chair and neutral wall finishes, allowing the detailed barley-twist turning and carved oak texture to act as an accent feature.

Maintain the surface by dusting with a dry microfiber cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or radiators to prevent the timber from drying or cracking.
