Antique Rocking Horse, F.h. Ayres C1920

Description

A wonderful Antique Rocking Horse made by F.H. Ayres of London, dating from 1920.

This model is known as a "D Type", which was top of the Ayres rocking horse range, these horses had extra carved detail such as muscling around the neck, face and legs. The swing stand is also of much finer quality, compared with examples lower in the Ayres range.

Incredibly, this horse retains its original handmade leather hunting saddle, which is simply stunning. The stirrup irons and bridle bit are also original. All leather tack is fully removable.

Sizes 49" - 124.5 cm tall. 54" - 137 cm long. 17" - 43 cm wide.
