Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The concave frieze with a small rounded moulding over the pair of adjustable shelves, with mahogany reed edge facings. The shelves adjusting with ratchet and rail sides, hidden within the cut corner facings of the body. The bookcase finished with a concave moulding over the plinth base. The rear made with slight overhang, to which the marble conforms, to cater for a chair rail or skirting board.
