Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bohemian garnet jewellery from the Victorian era typically features deep red pyrope garnets set closely together in cluster formations or naturalistic motifs such as leaves and flowers, often mounted in low-karat gold alloy or gilded brass.

These pieces were constructed using rose-cut or cabochon Bohemian garnets mounted in tombak, low-karat gold, or gilt silver, designed to maximize light reflection through dense cluster settings.

Authentic 19th-century Bohemian garnet pieces display hand-cut pyrope stones with dark, deep red undertones, close-back prong settings, wire hooks, and characteristic rose-cut or cabochon facets rather than modern brilliant cuts.

Antique drop earrings add a touch of historical contrast when worn alongside contemporary minimalist tailoring, eveningwear, or relaxed silk blouses to highlight the deep red tones.

Clean antique garnet jewellery gently using a soft dry cloth or lukewarm mild soapy water, avoiding harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or submerging closed-back settings which may trap moisture.
