Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco lighting from the 1930s emphasizes geometric symmetry, streamlined shapes, and stylized organic reliefs. Fixtures frequently featured frosted, acid-etched, or satin glass shades paired with polished chrome, nickel, or brass hardware.

These fixtures were constructed using heavy pressed glass treated with acid or sandblasting to achieve a matte, satin texture. Metal galleries and mounting rings were typically crafted from brass plated in polished chrome or nickel.

Authentic pieces feature crisp moulded details, structural weight, visible mould seams, and age-appropriate wear or minor tarnish on metal fittings. The frosted surface usually displays a fine uniform finish distinct from modern painted reproductions.

Flush mount glass fixtures are ideal for areas with lower ceiling heights, such as hallways, entrance foyers, or bathrooms. They complement minimalist contemporary schemes by providing subtle texture while remaining authentic to period architecture.

Remove the shade from the metal gallery and clean using warm water with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemical solvents or abrasive pads, which can damage the satin texture or metal finishes.
