Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mid-19th-century Victorian console tables often feature Rococo Revival influences, incorporating elaborate hand-carved scrollwork, decorative upstands, shaped front aprons, and prominent cabriole legs.

Cabinetmakers during this era predominantly favoured dense hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, and walnut, selecting timbers capable of supporting detailed hand carving and deep wax polishing.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-carved decorative motifs, hand-sawn construction details beneath the frieze, natural timber movement across wide surfaces, and genuine age-related wear along the feet.

Position the table in an entrance hall or corridor paired with modern artwork, low-profile table lamps, or structured ceramic vessels to balance the detailed historic wood carving.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft lint-free cloth, clean carved crevices using a soft bristle brush, and apply a clear beeswax polish annually to preserve the timber finish.
