A fabulous example of Victorian Scottish craftsmanship, this chest of drawers is constructed from solid mahogany and showcases richly figured flame mahogany veneers throughout. The roll-front frieze discreetly conceals a ‘secret’ drawer, set above a deep lower drawer and three graduating drawers, each fitted with original turned wooden knobs. Flanked by finely carved columns and raised on tall, graceful bun feet, the piece combines architectural presence with refined detail. The drawers glide smoothly on traditional dovetail runners, underscoring the quality of its construction. With a warm patina and exquisite grain, this chest remains structurally sound and visually captivating. Minor age-related imperfections add to its authenticity and charm.
