N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this Lancet Fusee Mantel Clock to the 19th Century.
This beautiful single fusee mantel clock has a wooden case with a lovely rich colour and grain. The top of the case is then a “lancet” shape.
There is then a further moulding leading to the base of the case which is finished by four brass feet.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashes to the outside marking the minutes. The centre of the dial is then signed by the maker “Wilkinson Leicester”. The dial is finally finished by two shaped hands as well as a domed, protective glass set into the brass bezel.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is a single fusee example of the upmost quality and comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key. It ticks away as it should and works perfectly.
It measures approximately:
14.25” / 36cm Tall.
9” / 23cm Wide.
5.5” / 14cm Deep.
