Small 17th Century Oak Coffer

Description

A small oak coffee in wonderfully original condition standing on lovely tall legs.

The two panel front has trefoil and styalised tulip carving. The top rail has nice scroll carving.

It has a triple paneled top and paneled ends.

It has retained its original wire hinges, lock and most unusually its original key.

It is a lovely colour and has retained its original finish.

As is to be expected it has a few marks associated with age and use. There is slight play in the joints but considering it was constructed without glue that is only to be expected after over 300 years of use. There is also some old woodworm holes to some of the rails in the back but this looks long dead but has been treated as a precaution.
