Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian linen press is a traditional cabinet constructed during the 18th and early 19th centuries, designed specifically for storing household linens and garments flat. These pieces typically feature double cupboard doors concealing pull-out slides or shelves, often combined with integrated drawers.

Cabinetmakers primarily used solid mahogany and rich flame mahogany veneers over secondary timbers such as oak or pine for internal drawer linings. Handles were commonly executed in turned wood, brass bale handles, or brass knobs.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joinery, hand-sawn timber marks on secondary woods, steel or iron mortise locks, and natural timber shrinkage lines along panel joints.

A low linen press functions well as a sideboard in a dining room, a wide media unit, or hallway storage, offering a substantial flat surface for displaying table lamps, ceramics, and framed art.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft lint-free cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the wood grain. Keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators to prevent timber warping and finish bleaching.
