A superb quality mid Victorian burr walnut campaign style four drawer chest, with brass stringing band, campaign style inset brass handles and retailed by highly regarded maker Edwards & Roberts c.1870. The shallow proportioned chest with burr walnut veneered top, which includes a brass stringing inset from the edge and the corners reinforced with brass mounts. Four graduated drawers below each with burr veneers, cock beaded edges and inset brass campaign style handles with pull out recessed drops, plus complementing brass barrel lock escutcheons. Figured walnut sides with handles to match the drawers and moulded top apron foot to the base. Superb quality chest with oak drawer linings, panelled back and retailers label for Edwards & Roberts to the rear. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and original patina.
