Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A lowboy is a small table with drawers supported by long legs, introduced in the late 17th century and widely produced throughout the 18th century in Britain and North America for use as a dressing table or side table.

Early 18th-century lowboys were predominantly constructed from solid native timbers such as oak and walnut, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, hand-carved legs, and brass drop handles or ring pulls.

Authentic period pieces display signs of historic hand-craftsmanship, including hand-sawn timber marks, hand-cut dovetails inside drawers, authentic wear on the drawer runners, and period design features like cabriole legs and scalloped aprons.

An antique lowboy functions effectively as an entryway console table, a compact bedroom vanity, or an accent side table in a living room, paired with contemporary artwork or structured ceramic vessels to create visual contrast.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying or splitting, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply high-grade beeswax polish periodically along the direction of the wood grain.
