Georgian Mahogany and Brass Bound Judges Wig Box

A George III period mahogany oval lidded Judges wig box with fruitwood inlays and brass bindings, in superb original condition c.1780. The oval box cut from thin strips of solid mahogany, which form a seamless slightly flared base section with brass bound rings and original lock to the front. The hinged lid with fruitwood and boxwood oval inlaid panel to the centre and complementing fruitwood banding to the outer edge. The hinged lid opening to reveal a clean interior interior with original flared brass hinge. Presented in immaculate original condition with a rich colour and original patina.
