The circular marble base with a bronze socle plinth. Fine original chocolate brown patination. Signed to base ‘C Kauba’.

The son of an Austrian shoemaker, Carl Kauba, began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and in 1886 he spent two years in Paris.
