We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A William IV sewing table is a specialised piece of small occasional furniture dating from the 1830s, designed with hidden storage and a fabric well or basket underneath to hold needlework materials and tools.

These tables were typically constructed from high-grade hardwoods such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut, often featuring silk or pleated cotton fabric for the sewing well and brass castors for mobility.

Authentic pieces from the William IV era (18301837) often exhibit bold, sturdy proportions, robust column supports, heavily carved acanthus or lotus leaf decoration, and rich wood veneers such as figured rosewood.

An antique sewing table functions effectively as an occasional side table beside an armchair, within a bay window, or as a decorative accent in a hallway, bringing historical texture to modern schemes.

Dust the timber surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish periodically along the grain; avoid placement near direct heat sources or moisture to protect both the veneer and fabric element.
