Lee Wright Antiques & Interiors Ltd has dated this Regency Amboyna Library Table to the 19th Century.
The top has a fabulous colour and there is a fine crossbanding of coromandel wood. It has rounded corners and there are two drawers in the frieze below with ebony inlay and ebonised knobs. It is supported on dual end supports with baluster turned columns, joined by square sections with applied carved paterae. There is contrasting geometric inlay, of leaf designs, on the side of each support. The two end supports are joined by a long, turned stretcher with additional baluster detailing and terminate in socket castors.
This is a table that probably would once have graced a very grand library.
