The trunk with burr yew veneers and deep turned cistern cover to the base. The two piece silvered scale with weather predictions to the left and pressure to the right side plus vernier marker. Bears the makers name Simon Cade, Charing Cross, recorded working from 1688 to 1735; he was apprentice to Henry Wynne in 1680 who was one of the earliest barometer makers.
