We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery created during the 1920s is known for geometric symmetry, sharp linear forms, and high-contrast gemstone pairings. The era favoured platinum mountings, openwork latticework, and strong monochromatic or multi-gem colour combinations influenced by modern architecture and cubist art.

Jewellers during the 1920s frequently utilised platinum for its strength and neutral tone, allowing intricate openwork and fine milgrain detailing. Diamonds were combined with contrasting opaque gems such as black onyx, jade, coral, or lapis lazuli.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut diamonds such as single cuts or old European cuts, crisp geometric metalwork, and period makers marks or purity hallmarks for platinum. Original mountings often display fine hand-applied milgrain edging and secure antique pin fittings.

A geometric platinum brooch can be styled on a tailored coat lapel, fastened at the neckline of a silk shirt, or used to secure a wool scarf. It may also be attached to a velvet ribbon to wear as a choker or pinned into formal hair accessories for evening attire.

Clean the metal and diamonds gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, taking extra care around set stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals, as natural onyx can be sensitive to thermal shock and abrasion.
