Japanese Cast Bronze Jardiniere

A superb quality Japanese cast polished bronze jardiniere with decorative butterflies to the rim and lotus leaf design feet c.1880. The heavy melon shaped cast bronze jardiniere with writhen form and cast butterflies to each side of the rim forming handles. Cast feet to the base in the form of lotus leaves and a decorative lilly pad to the centre of the underside. Superbly detailed throughout with a deep polish, very heavy.
