Daisy Makeig-jones Wedgwood Blue Lustre Pair of Owl Bowls, C.1915

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare pair of Wedgwood blue lustre bowls designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones circa 1915 (pattern Z4564). Powder-blue mottled ground, continuous gilt foliate border, and hand-gilded owls in the center. One bowl carries the special retail order mark for James Powell & Sons (Whitefriars Glass Works) — a prestigious London retailer of Wedgwood who offered such pieces alongside their own glass and stained-glass wares, applying their shop mark after production. Such dual-branding strengthens collectability and underlines the bowls’ high-end retail history. Extremely rare, unique, and highly collectible, they are an outstanding find for any serious Wedgwood enthusiast.

Size (each): 15.2 cm diameter; 4 cm high

Condition: Excellent antique condition; bright lustre, sharp gilding, no chips, cracks or restoration. Reflections in the photographs are caused by the lustre glaze and are not defects.

Please study the accompanying photographs carefully as they form an integral part of this description. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them. The item will be shipped with full tracking and insurance
