Description

Gents antique silver wrist watch, 1925.

The watch has a 15-jewel A Schild calibre 331 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London (import mark), 1925, with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail. The case has a small indentation between the top lugs, and some unevenness to the hinged back.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial has some hairline cracks although short and fairly faint.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
