Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Rural genre painting focuses on everyday agricultural scenes, domestic livestock, and countryside labour, gaining immense popularity during the 19th century as industrialisation drove nostalgic interest in agrarian life.

Artists utilised oil-based pigments applied to natural linen or cotton canvas stretched over wooden stretchers, typically housed within carved gesso and gilt-wood moulding frames.

Authentic period paintings typically exhibit natural age-related craquelure across the paint surface, canvas darkening on the reverse, hand-crafted stretchers, and signs of aged varnish oxidisation.

A traditional pastoral scene provides warm visual contrast when mounted against modern neutral walls, situated above a console table or framed within a gallery wall alongside contemporary line drawings.

Keep the artwork away from direct sunlight and fluctuating humidity, dusting the frame lightly with a soft brush while avoiding liquid cleaners on the canvas surface.
