Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency style metalwork, popular in Britain during the early 19th century, is characterised by Neoclassical influences, classical Greek and Roman motifs, patinated bronze finishes, and detailed casting including acanthus leaves and animal feet.

Regency candlesticks were predominantly crafted from cast bronze, brass, or iron, often featuring chased detailing, dark patination, and contrasting gilded or ormolu accents on rims and nozzles.

Authentic 19th-century bronze pieces typically feature heavy cast weight, hand-chased ornamentation, natural historic wear, and original dark patination in recessed areas of the metalwork.

These decorative objects add visual balance and classical texture when positioned in pairs on a mantelpiece, dining table centrepiece, or sideboard top alongside contemporary art.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive chemical cleaners, polish, or water, as these can strip the original patina and remove historic gilded details.
