Paul Jones flourished 1855-1888.He was a painter of sporting scenes,very often of game dogs.He was an enthusiastic terrier man,depicting them rabbiting or chasing cats and rats.Included amongst his works are a number of shooting scenes.He is thought to be the son of Samuel John Egbert Jones. His works are known for their small dimensions and his careful painting techniques and close attention to details.We have three works in stock by this artist. ‘ Rustic figure with Pony and attendant Hounds’ signed oil on panel, and indistinctly dated 1875?,image size 14x18 cms, framed size 29.5x34 cms
