Demetre Chiparus - Awakening or L'Eveil. A stunning Art Deco cold painted bronze study of a beautiful young woman awakening. This exquisite figure stands on tiptoes and with her arms raised up. Excellent cast and fine hand finished detail. A fine example of the exceptional skill and workmanship of the master sculptor Demetre Chiparus. The figure stands on a white marble and onyx base and is signed in the marble.

A similar figure is shown in A. Shayo, 'Chiparus Master of Art Deco', Abbeville Press, 1999, p.106. A beautiful piece

Height bronze - 41 cm bronze and base 46cm width 23cm

Excellent original condition. Light wear to the Patina and a chip to the rear of the marble base
