Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William and Mary furniture, originating in late 17th-century England, is defined by Dutch and French influences, lighter proportions than earlier Oak period pieces, and decorative surface techniques such as oyster parquetry and crossbanding.

Oyster veneering involves slicing thin transverse sections from small tree branches or saplings, such as laburnum or walnut, revealing circular growth rings that resemble oyster shells when assembled in geometric patterns across drawer fronts and tops.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary timber, turned bun feet, original brass drop-loop handles with engraved escutcheons, and natural age shrinkage lines along the veneer seams.

Position the chest as an accent piece in a hallway or reception room, pairing the complex wood grain with neutral walls, minimalist contemporary artwork, and simple lighting fixtures.

Maintain stable humidity levels to prevent timber movement, position the item away from direct heat sources or prolonged sunlight, and apply clear beeswax polish sparingly using a soft lint-free cloth.
