Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Beehive-shaped honey pots became popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often created as novelty breakfast tableware. Manufacturers produced glass liners resembling traditional skeps, supported by electroplated nickel silver frames featuring naturalistic motifs like branches or bees.

These pieces typically consist of a moulded or cut lead glass liner paired with electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or sterling silver components. The metalwork often includes a custom base or stand, a fitted lid, and a stylized finial.

Authentic period pieces feature manufacturer stamps or EPNS hallmarks on the underside of the frame or lid edge. Additionally, vintage glass displays natural variations in thickness, minor hand-cut irregularities, and light wear on the base from historical use.

Place the jar on a dining table or sideboard as part of a breakfast setting, or position it inside a glass-front display cabinet alongside period glassware. It can also function as a decorative accent on kitchen open shelving.

Wash the glass liner by hand using warm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding dishwashers. Clean the silver-plated stand and lid gently using a silver polishing cloth or specialized non-abrasive cream to remove oxidisation without wearing away the plating.
