Lincoln Restorations has dated this Victorian Walnut Nursing Chair to the Victorian era.
An unusual and fantastic quality occasional chair.
This chair features an elegantly shaped and unusually elongated balloon back finishing to a simple carved point to the lower back. The chair has a low seat typical of nursing chairs, with a drop-in upholstered seat pad. The pad sits on its beautifully shaped serpentine front and side rails flowing to its carved cabriole forelegs, all which stands on its original solid brass castors. The chair also features its original glossy french polished finish with the idillic lightly faded Walnut Colour which we have just waxed to enhance.

This chair has been recently (within the last few years) re-upholstered to a good standard in a plum red crushed velvet chenille material with matching braid and is complete with traditional padding which is very comfortable and does not clunk or creak when sat in.

If the material is not to your taste we would be able to quote for re-upholstering this chair for you if you enquire.
This item is structurally solid, in good order with no loose joints.
Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but does have signs of wear and tear, however, we feel that these points are which adds to part of its charm and character with it being antique.
