Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s through the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, and contrasting gemstone combinations. Platinum became the metal of choice during this period due to its strength and bright white finish, often paired with geometric stone cuts like baguettes and emerald cuts.

1930s fine jewellery predominantly featured platinum settings to secure precious gemstones such as natural sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds. Metalwork relied on precision hand-fabrication, prong settings, and step-cut side stones to emphasise linear structure.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-finished settings, period-appropriate step-cut or baguette diamonds, and platinum stamps or hallmarks consistent with early 20th-century assay standards. Unheated or natural origin stones, such as Burmese sapphires, are typically verified via gemmological certification.

A classic three-stone or shoulder-set ring works well when paired with a plain platinum or fine diamond eternity band. Its streamlined geometric silhouette allows it to complement both modern minimalist attire and formal evening wear.

Clean the ring using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from behind the setting. Store the piece individually in a lined jewellery box to prevent harder diamonds from scratching the sapphire or platinum surfaces.
